May 23, 2016

Dear family and friends,
Well this week was also a good week, because we had another baptism. The youth we baptized this week was someone who we talked with on the first day here in our area. It took really long to baptize him because his grandma didn't want to give the signature even though she is in charge of him. She said he had to talk to his parents who don't live there with him. Even though all of his family are members but inactive it was a little hard. But we finally got them to support him in his decision to get baptized and 4 of his family members were there at his baptism and one being his sister who isn't a member yet, but she goes to another church. But we will see if she wants to keep coming to church and would like to get baptized also.

Also, this week on Saturday, the day of the baptism. I woke up feeling a little bad and that day when I got done taking a shower I felt like I was freezing and all my energies were gone. So I went to bed and put my blanket over me but I still felt super cold. My comp got done getting ready and came over and asked me what was wrong and he felt my forehead and I had a fever so I just stayed there in bed with my  body aching and aching. So we just left in the morning to fill up the baptismal font and to visit one person and then I went to eat and then to the house to rest until the baptism, while my companion left with someone else to visit. Then when we got there to the baptism my hands started to itch a lot. So some members told me to take some pills so the itching would go away. Then later that night I talked to the nurses and they said that it looks like I have a case of Chikenguya. So I might have to go take some examines today to see if that is really what I have or if it's something else. But don't worry because they say that your body only hurts for 3 days straight and then it goes away! haha!

Also, we are planning on baptizing this week again so we will see how it goes and if she is all ready to get baptized, because she has to get married first to be able to be baptized. But her husband is really hard hearted. He is fine with her getting baptized but he doesn't want to stop playing soccer on Sundays to be able to live the day of rest and too be able to have an eternal family. His priorities are set upon the things of this world and it's going to talk many prayers to change his heart. So please pray for them and so he can change his mindset.

Well this week was a blast!!! I first went on Thursday to baptize one of the hermanas (sister missionaries) in our district and then on Friday was our dates baptism. It was so awesome to be able to baptize two days in a row. The baptism on Thursday was special because during the time when we were changing the stake president got up in front and talked to everyone there. He shared  a couple experiences from his mission and then he invited all the investigators there to take the same step. The step to be clean from their sins by being baptized, and all the investigators said yes!!!! It was pretty crazy!
Then with our baptism I almost slipped getting into the font haha but the best part was when his grandma bore her testimony. The spirit just filled the room so much and it was a great baptismal service. We had 3 investigators there and they all are pretty pumped to keep listening to us and prepare to get baptized.
This week we should have another baptism which is a huge miracle, because his grandma didn't want to give the signature but in the end after praying a lot and fasting he was able to get his dad to sign the paper, I know that the lord helped there. But after the next week we should baptize too.  So we should baptize 3 weeks in a row!!! Yeah! haha, but we will see how it goes!

Other than that, I got a package from my family. Thanks mom and dad!!! I love you guys so much!

This week was the best!!
I got to talk to my family and Cason was on also!!! It was good to be able to talk to everyone and to talk Spanish with my brother. He's got pretty good Spanish!
But it was rally good to be able to talk.
This week also the district was able to put 5 dates!!! 2 for this week and more for the end of this month and June haha.
We have 21 people who are reading the BOM, praying, attending church and are ready to accept a date to be baptized.
So this week we will work hard to be able to help all of them accept a date to be clean from there sins.
Also, this week we got a baptism planned so that should be good!

Talk to ya next week

Wow! This week we have had a challenge with our district and it was to see how many news we could find in these last two weeks, but we were really strict with the news we were finding. If we are actually finding peope who were positive we would count them, like we weren't just doing it for numbers. So two weeks ago we found 74 as a district and this last week we found 102 as a district. Now this week we are going to focus on, fechas, investigators in church, and investigators progressing. I hope that this challenge that we are doing will help animate the district so we can have success this month and prepare us for the future.

This week has been a little frustrating trying to get a signature so one of our investigators can get baptized, because the abuela (grandma) is being really hard right now to get the firma (signature). But I think this week we are going to be able to get the firma and we will see when we get this kid baptized. He wanted to get baptized last week but we didn't have the firma.

Well, also a big shout out to my mom this wonderful day, because it's her birthday. So I just want to say Happy Birthday mom and I hope the best for you today! and your present will be a skype call next week! haha!

Love you guys and most of all, love you mom for everything you do for me.

Talk to you guys later,
